Position Description


            Position Title             : Production Planner                    

            Department               : Logistics & Planning

            Location                     : Hanesbrands Vietnam, Hue

            Pay Classification    : Non Exempt





I.      Job Summary

Production Planner is responsible for issuing monthly and weekly production plan; making sure production will be running as per schedule; and accomplishing the plant’s shipment commitment with outside/ customer.

II.    Key responsibilities

a.    Measurable tasks – 75% weighting

·         Issue monthly schedule adherence (SA) based on cut parts availability:

-          Monthly SA must follow FIFO (first-in-first-out) principal

-          Monthly SA is in alignment with CPS commitment

-          Monthly SA must be sent to Material Planners to review and ensure all materials availability

·         Work with Operations to agree on monthly SA.

·         Issue detailed weekly production plan based on monthly SA.

·         Monitor and manage cut parts WOS (week of supplies) to ensure having just enough cut parts for sewing – not too much pass due and too much early cut parts.

·         Monitor Events/ Expedites/ Air ship request to make sure fully compliance.

·         Monitor production output to achieve full ASA (Absolute Schedule Adherence) for shipment.

·         Manage suspension to maintain at or lower than the plant’s target rate:

-          Work with textile vendor to get replacement on time.

-          Work with Operations to arrange replacement sewing at soonest time after receiving.

·         Review and monitor aging inventory to maintain at or lower than the plant’s target rate.

b.    Other qualifications – 25% weighting

·         Be able to provide production plan in a timely manner with most accurate information.

·         Have good communication and coordination with cross-function departments to handle and solve planning functions or matters.

·         Have good cooperation among planning team.

·         Have high responsibility in completing not only regular tasks but also ad-hoc requirements from management levels as per business needs.

III.   Minimum job requirements

a.    Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics or related fields.

b.    Working experience

3 years working experience. Working experience in manufacturing field is a preference.

c.    Skills

-          Ability to learn new systems, programs and methods

-          Strong analytical and problem solving skills

-          Excellent written and oral communication skills

-          Ability to multi-task many assignments and adjust priorities as business conditions change

-          Strong interpersonal skills; establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, plants, apparel planning, marketing and project management

-          Strong computer skills

-          Knowledge of mainframe/planning systems, Excel, Access

-          Ability to assimilate various data from different sources to support operations

-          Ability to document, recall, support and take responsibility for planning/production of inventory liability

-          English literacy
